Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival

Van dinsdag 29 mei tot en met zondag 3 juni staat Amsterdam volledig in het teken van de Spaanse en Latijns-Amerikaanse film. Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival is het enige Spaanse filmfestival van Nederland met een divers programma van films, muziek en gastronomie. Tijdens de 4e editie biedt het Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival in zes dagen zo’n 25 speelfilms, maar ook live muziek, hapjes, wijnen, Q&A’s en workshops. Het festival vindt in de hoofdstad plaats in Pathé Tuschinski, Pathé de Munt, Het Ketelhuis en – nieuw dit jaar – Cinecenter. De kaartverkoop is eind april gestart via de websites van de deelnemende bioscopen. Het complete programma is hier te vinden.

El Presidente (The Summit)

Hernán Blanco, de president van Argentinië, staat voor een belangrijke beslissing. Hij komt samen met politieke leiders voor een conferentie in het Chileense La Cordillera. De beslissingen die hij moet nemen, zijn niet alleen van belang voor zijn politieke carrière, maar een gecompliceerde situatie met zijn dochter is bepalend voor de rest van zijn leven. El Presidente wordt in de zomer van 2018 door distributeur Cinemien uitgebracht in de Nederlandse filmtheaters.

El futuro que viene

But they’re all lying. The truth begins to unfold through the memories of Pablo Simó. But the fear and nervousness of the three architects about the arrival of Leonor and his question “What happened to Nelson Jara? evidence something much darker and much more suspicious than what you can see at first glance.

After giving up a successful career in his home country for a chance to make it in the Big Apple, he needs to juggle bartending, babysitting and odd jobs to keep himself afloat.

Indestructible, el alma de la salsa

This beautifully bewitching musical odyssey takes us from Madrid to various places all over the Americas in search of the sundry sources of that divine tradition we call salsa. This musical documentary follows Spanish flamenco singer Diego “El Cigala” as he embarks on a journey to make a salsa record.
